What this app does

Remote for Bravia TV lets you control a compatible Sony Bravia TV from your phone over your local Wi-Fi network.

Data collection

The app does not collect behavioral usage analytics, run a separate crash-reporting service, show ads, or require an account or sign-in. The developer does not directly collect your name, contact details, TV viewing information, or remote-control commands.

  • No behavioral usage analytics
  • No crash-reporting services
  • No advertising
  • No accounts or sign-in

Purchases

The app uses RevenueCat to provide and restore optional Premium purchases. RevenueCat and Google Play or the Apple App Store process purchase history and related information such as an anonymous app-user identifier, product and entitlement status, transaction or receipt information, store country, device platform, and technical metadata needed to operate the purchase service. This information is used for app functionality—checking access, restoring purchases, and purchase support—and aggregate purchase analytics. It is not used to analyze remote-control activity or what you watch.

Payment details are entered into and processed by Apple or Google. The app and its developer do not receive your full payment-card details. RevenueCat is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking. See the RevenueCat privacy policy.

Network usage

TV discovery and control communication happens directly between your phone and TV on your local Wi-Fi network. Commands and TV viewing information are not sent to us. Internet access is used only for optional purchase and restore operations through RevenueCat and the applicable app store.

Sony Bravia TVs are controlled over plain HTTP on the local network, so this control traffic—including the pairing PIN and authentication token—is not encrypted in transit. Someone able to monitor an untrusted or shared Wi-Fi network could in principle observe it. This is a property of the TV control API. Use the app on a trusted home network.

Local-network and nearby-device permissions requested by your phone are required to discover and send commands to your TV.

Data stored on your device

The app saves your TV's IP address and other non-secret connection details in local app storage. The pairing credential is stored separately using protected operating-system credential storage—Apple Keychain on iOS and Keystore-backed secure storage on Android. This data is stored on your device and is not sent to us.

Data deletion

The app has no account. Uninstalling it removes locally stored app data, subject to your operating system's backup behavior. To request deletion of purchase-service data associated with this app, email hi@joeyhipolito.dev with the subject Bravia Remote data deletion and include the Google Play order ID from your purchase receipt. Do not send payment-card details, TV credentials, or pairing PINs. Apple, Google, and other processors may retain transaction records where required for purchases, refunds, fraud prevention, tax, accounting, or legal compliance.
