About Me

I am a senior full stack developer who creates reliable systems, is an avid coffee brewer, and leads through action. Throughout the last 10+ years as a professional developer, I have focused on creating well thought out, maintainable code to solve real-world problems – particularly in the fintech space where I now serve as the lead front-end developer at TitanFX developing modern trading platforms utilizing Next.js and scalable design systems.

What gets me most excited about working as a developer? Turning complex legacy systems into beautiful, easy-to-use applications. I have also been the developer who first used docker in 2014 (at its infancy), created containerized mobile development environments for my college thesis and successfully integrated early social media apis into production applications; got modern javascript to work in ie8 and even had popup blockers cooperating between dozens of browsers.

Nowadays, I spend my time architecting react applications and optimizing database queries or mentoring other developers, designing internal tools to streamline workflow processes within our team, and troubleshooting performance issues. I feel that the greatest systems are those which operate quietly in the background, performing tasks efficiently and effectively – and the greatest teams are those which are based upon trust, continuous feedback, and shared responsibility.

When not working, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and experimenting with brewing espresso at home using my flair 58+. I enjoy well crafted items regardless if they are software, coffee, or systems that simply make logical sense.
